Shanghai Cuisine 上海小馆

Hands down this was some of the best Chinese food I have had to date. Had both the Orange Chicken lunch special and the Pork+Leek Dumplings and cannot wait to try more! I was greeted with enthusiasm at the door and had a nice conversation with the owner when picking up my food to top it all off. Will definitely be coming back!

Authentic Shanghai Cuisine. I’m from Shanghai China and haven’t had any real Shanghai Cuisine for a while. When I was waiting for my order at the restaurant I could hear chefs talking in Shanghai Dialogue. When they found out I’m from Shanghai too they were extremely exited and started hangout with me at the restaurant.
Food was delicious, there’s a homemade sweet lotus root with sticky rice. And duck tongue. Worth trying.

Stopped in to try the Pork with Leek dumplings and they were very delicious. Thin crispy wrapper unlike the doughy wrappers other establishments use. Authentic pleating and the fillings were plump and juicy. Looking forward to trying other menu items. The dipping sauce was slightly spicy which I enjoyed. The staff were very helpful and friendly!

Incredible Chef! The two main dishes we ate were both excellent—the duck tongue was crispy and sweet, the lobster noodles was very fresh and tender. For sides we enjoyed sweet peas sprouts (best I ever had) and cold stuffed lotus root which was another favorite — sweet and aromatic from the flower petals. I will be a repeat customer to Shanghai cuisine a new restaurant in Waltham!
