    We went here for our anniversary and were delighted. We usually go into the city for a good steak but we now know we can achieve this locally. The Federal is a great steakhouse conveniently located in Waltham shopping strip next to Market Basket. Parking is easy unlike the city. The restaurant is well maintained and upscale. Great bar and patio area, which is really great for summer evenings. The service was great. The food was terrific. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended for any occasion.

    The food was fantastic! The scallop appetizer is not adequately described with words. So delicious, as was our entrees. Portions are very generous. The service was also excellent. I cannot wait to go back!

    The food here is excellent and reasonably priced for very elegant food. I had dry aged rib eye steak which absolutely delicious and memorable. The food was prepared classically, which to me means correctly... everything seasoned well, lots of attention to detail ... I highly recommend this restaurant!

    The dinner was wonderful. Went out with a friend and my sister. I'll definitely return with my husband. Great place for a date. Food is really good. People waiting on us made it special.
