The Summer House Cottages

One of the Summerhouse’s lovely cottages became my go to place for pampering, rest and recovery after a very trying year. My cottage, Rose, was a perfect private accommodation, with rambler roses trellised around the door and the inside suited for my comfort. They have the best mattresses and linens! WiFi and breakfast are included and I was able to have tea and muffins in my room and read without noise or interruption. There is a bluff walk down to the village and a jitney goes to town if you want to sightsee or shop. I lunched at the Bistro by the Pool right next to the ocean, can’t think of much better than that.
Dinner at the Bistro was also good and they were very accommodating about my dietary restrictions. The service was good and the staff available when needed, but not obtrusive which I think works well in this environment. It was definitely too short and I am looking forward to going back very soon!

I’ve been coming to the SH for years. I stayed in Lily and I was very happy with the upgrades. The bathroom was redone, freshly repainted and the bed/linens were top quality. So, it exceeded my expectations. The housekeepers cleaned my room every morning while I was having my morning walk. Fresh towels and flowers daily. I was also very impressed with the grounds. The flowers were in full bloom and professionally maintained. I look forward to the main restaurant opening soon. In the past, it was the best place on the island for many reasons.

Summerhouse Cottages were perfect for a long weekend away with my daughter. We found our room spotlessly clean with plenty of fresh towels, a wonderful tub, comfortable and clean bed, and a spacious layout for even the smallest room style available. The porch was an excellent spot for a glass of wine and a book, parking behind was convenient, and walking just down the steps to breakfast and dinner were perfect. Excellent location to walk around town just a minute walk to the gen store, bookstore, sandwich shop, post office, and restaurants.
