Echoing some of the other reviews - this place has so much potential, but the food is just slightly off the mark for the prices. Was so excited to find this place in the land of chain restaurants and Irish pubs. The atmosphere and cocktails were great, but the food was a mixed bag. We really like the radish appetizer and the steak entree was good, but the swordfish my husband ordered was just weird. It was not a composed dish and was just a bunch of random things thrown on the plate. Definitely not to our expectations for an entree over $30. I hope this place figures it out and continues tweaking the menu.
The entire experience was very pleasurable. The entire staff was outgoing, friendly, and never far from the table. Mr. Gray noticed my mother wasn't enjoying her wine, so he stepped right in and offered her a new brand. The food was very good. I had the swordfish, moist and lightly seasoned topped with the most amazing fries. We will be back when in the area.
I want this place to do well because it has so much potential!!! But the food was disappointing. Service / atmosphere was great.
We had the potato kale croquettes, risotto, halumi, kale wheat berry salad. Across the board it was all just... underwhelming. Nothing was too wrong but texturally, flavor wise nothing popped. The salad in particular was wilted, texturally unpleasant and flavor was so so. Croquettes were the best but not stellar. Risotto seemed under, mushroom texture was rubbery, flavor wise it was earthy but in the funky sort of way... same for the salad. The halumi was good but again texture wise it was lacking - rubbery head as well.
Great ideas for the menu - I think it can work if they tweak more but it wasn't quite there for us.
We loved the atmosphere, cocktail / wine selection and service but for the price point it is not delivering.
I would definitely return if they work on the menu more - lots of potential!
The suburbs deserve good food too; Few and Far has brought it to us! My husband and I were impressed with both the cocktails and the food, paired with gorgeous interior design. I appreciated their care for my celiac concerns. Most of the menu is gluten free and the server mentioned that each dish was prepared safely. We will be back-often!
Really great addition to the food scene in Dedham, and glad to have parts of the Forage team opening this new place. Even better, no fighting for parking like at Legacy Place!
We had the potatoes and pickles to start, both solid and delicious. I had the hangar steak, my partner the chicken. Both proteins were cooked perfectly to order, executed really well. Stand out we're the sets of rutabaga mash and chard for the beef, and sweet potatoes and spinach with ginger butter. This is a team that gets vegetables and uses what's available! Really good.
One minor point, the serving staff are indifferent, somewhat knowledgeable (particularly so so on wine understanding) but, a pet peeve: not dressed similarly so hard to identify from guests. Yes, it's a minor point, but sports / university shirts don't set a great professional tone. Like I said, pet peeve.
Drinks were good, two dessert choices - perfectly fine for the first week opening.
Really good food, veggies awesome! Go give a try!!
