Barker Tavern

We recently had our daughter's wedding at the Barker Tavern. If there was another star, I would post a 6th one! Becky and her staff are truly professionals and provided us with a lovely wedding and reception. The food was wonderful. The room was decorated perfectly and we did not worry about anything! We could not have had a better experience.

Service was not good. Waitress in training and different people coming to the table. Long wait once seated to see a server. I think they are probably getting ready for the summer. Food was fabulous!

I got oysters on the half shell, they were wonderful. My waitress was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. She told me about a veal chop special with garlic mashed potatoes and brussel sprout and I ordered that cooked medium. That was amazing and cooked perfect. After that, I ordered desert and it I forget the name of the desert, it was their signature desert. It was basically 3 layers of berries and cream between 3 extremely thin sugar cookies, it was great. The atmosphere is a little cramped but it didn't take away from my experience. I'd say the Barker Tavern is a gem, it's expensive but it's worth it. You get what you pay for. Outstanding dinner at the Barker Tavern.

My wife and I enjoyed a night out at the Barker Tavern and very happy with the food and service. The host and wait staff were very attentive. Our server, Christine, was excellent. From appetizers to desert, everything was was delicious. We had haddock and a short rib special that were perfectly portioned. Wine selection was also great. Very happy with our dinner here and look forward to our next visit!

Excellent quality of food... Blend of flavors was incredible! Our server knew the menu front and back and specials and was able to give suggestions! Highly recommend this charming place if you're visiting Boston.
