I hadn't been to C Fruit Life in 5 years, so I was happy to see that it was still bustling with customers. The interior is very welcoming with cute fruits painted on the walls. Ordering is done through a QR code on your table. The prices seemed pretty reasonable -- you could get a single serving shaved ice for around $6.
We got the mango snowdae for 2 people ($12.45 before taxes). The portion size is quite generous -- we probably would've been satisfied sharing a single serving. I thought the default choice of toppings was great -- lychee jelly, mango popping boba, pomelo, and mango chunks. The mango was tender but a bit sour, and the shaved ice had a mango flavor. This dessert was not too sweet, but also not as refreshing as I was expecting. The ice, while finely shaved, ends up being a bit clumpy/dry in the mouth. I enjoyed the pomelo, popping boba, and lychee jelly.
Overall this is a really pleasant place to get dessert, and has good price points. I probably wouldn't get the mango snowdae again, but maybe I'd try a drink!
Overall a cute little dessert place but not my favorite!
Good:
- We got the strawberry slush dessert and the fruit it came with like the strawberries were nice but the slush itself was like way too sweet
- Nice interior and place to sit with friends
- Unique desserts on the menu
Bad
- Took a while for the dessert to come back
Overall not too impressed since I feel like I would not come again.
Really unique place!
I tried:
1. Longan, date, wolfberry (goji berry), tremella soup with a side of lotus and sea coconut (also called Lodoicea or Coco de Mar),
2. Strawberry Pochette: basically a crepe with strawberry and ricotta (if I had known that I would have foregone, as I know what those things taste like).
3. Papaya coconut 🥥 milk with Sago (other names are saksak, rabia and sagu: an extract of palm stems and a staple in New Guinea and the Maluku Islands
4. Mango pizza with fresh mango and mango jam, mozzarella, and mayonnaise on top (that part sounded gross but it was so tasty).
The fruit soups were not cheap, but they were so tasty, and I don’t know where else you can try this variety of vegetation!
No parking right out front, but there is street parking all along other streets.
Fully accessible but the door is insanely heavy to open so I asked for help.
Sadly no bathroom!!!
Most of the ordering is done on your phone with a QR code associated with each table.
Very creamy and sweet, but not too sweet which is how I prefer it. Tastes almost like ice cream. Great portion for price
