It's good if you want to eat a lot of veggies and fish balls or fish tofu. At $19, you can't beat it. The broths are nice and you get your own hotpot.
But if you want to eat meat, and I mean a lot of meat as people do at hotpot, this isn't the place to go to. Meats are pay-per-plate at around $5-$6. Value-wise, it'd just be better to go to a true all-you-can-eat hotpot place.
$19 base to include the fish all veggies etc, $6 a plate for meat, and it won't take long to get to the price of other hotpot places. The value just isn't there.
This place has always been best to come during off times. If you're planning to come for dinner on a weeknight then after 730pm will be no wait. They open at 5pm. They're back to allowing people to make their own sauces and get their own food! You just need to wear a mask whenever you get up and wear their disposable gloves to get food. Remember to save room at the end for their self serve soft serve ice cream (vanilla and green tea) 😋
First time I went here, the restaurant wasn’t even open yet and there was a line around the corner. And I can definitely see why. I got their Chinese Mala soup base and it was the right amount of spicy and warm. There were a lot of veggies and different types of noodles and even though it’s a buffet it still felt healthy. Definitely recommend this place to anyone in Boston.
Listen...
-Pork Bone Broth
-load up on the veggies for the broth and to keep your meal from tasting one dimensional
-Stay with the meat selection
-Seafood is good but hard to eat and makes you feel like you're not getting your money's worth.
- Stay away from the soda cause that will fill your stomach with gas and keep you from being eating more
- Your sauce needs scallions, soy sauce, and sesame oil to start. The rest are to your liking. I personally like to add peanut sauce and some spices to cut through the savory
-Always end your meal with the ice cream.
Food and service was excellent! There were dozens of options to choose from at the buffet. I had the lamb and it was very nicely cut and tasted great. The pork bone broth is a good choice if you are looking for a more neutral taste, definitely my groups favorite. The soft serve green tea ice cream is also a must at the end of your meal! Make sure you get there before they open for dinner though, as it was a 90 minute wait only a couple minutes after opening. But overall it was a great experience and I hope to go again soon!
