Stopped in on a Thursday evening with no games in town to this historic spot. If you want to see some old Boston flavor this is the spot. It's not modern in any way, but it's got a ton of character and a great Boston vibe. Staff was attentive and friendly. There are 2 floors, upstairs was closed. Lots of tv's to catch a game, music was (not live) really upbeat and fun. Chicken Ceasar salad was diced up into to small a pieces, but still fresh and tasty. The nachos were prepared in a different way, but also good. Menu offered plenty, however we were running late and I don't eat a heavy meal late night. Bathrooms need a lot of attention, but the overall cleanliness of the bar seemed clean. We look forward to going back.
My husband and I came to Boston to go to the Science Museum. We got a Groupon for the red hat so it was almost half off. They had 10 cent wings, we got beers and we couldn't even eat our meals! Really good food. Our server Jeana (?) Gena (?) was so nice and kept up on everything we needed. On the way back to the car we said that if we lived in the area we would definitely be back to eat there way more often!
Love this place, great little bar with old school history. Great pub food. Park for Garden events near this place cheap and stop here before the event!
NIGHT OUT REVIEW
What a great Boston dive bar! Came here around 10:30 PM with some friends and was pleasantly surprised by the low-ceilings, wood everywhere, and cheap drinks. Pitchers are $15 and the amazing waffle fries are only $4. Will definitely make this part of my regular rotation.
I hear they also have 10 cent wings on certain days so check that out!
Great find in Boston. There are 2 levels here—-I visited the top level and had a blast. Beers on tap are about $5 or so and you can get a filling sandwich with waffle fries for about $9. It’s not gourmet but it’s damn good for a “dive” bar. Friendly, no attitude staff to boot. Check it out if you just want to drink and chill.
