Fresh Palate

I don't understand all the rave reviews. I got the perch. It comes with unseasoned, steamed vegetables. My potatoes were undercooked and not browned. The sauce with the perch was good and the perch was cooked OK, but not even close to being worth $26. Wife got a salad which was a little better, but still not special. My mixed drink was good and the waitress was nice. Everything on the menu sounds good, maybe it's just the execution that is lacking.

It's an awesome place to check out. Very big on recycling. Right down to paper straws! No waste! The menu is intriguing with LOTS of options and various items to create your own or try one of theirs. Friendly atmosphere. Enjoyable place to eat. Plus plenty of alcohol and beer options! My favorite was the outside wall with the 3D water scene.

Delicious vegetarian and vegan options on a locally sourced menu. Comfortable atmosphere with full bar and good beer list. Steps away from a paved path on the river for an after dinner walk. Best meal in Alpena.

If I'm in Alpena again, I will definitely be stopping here. I love the open-air atmosphere, the locally-sourced food, and their obvious effort to conserve resources. We also enjoyed being able to watch them cook in the kitchen while we waited for our food. We got to see them prepare the salads we were about to eat! Pretty neat!

Loved it!! Lunch was awesome, very tasty. Will definitely go back. Wait staff was very polite and professional. Would recommend Stacy for a server
