El Rancho Viejo

Ordered 4 or 5 steak tacos with chorizo sausage on them with a double order of refried beans. The tacos were delicious as well as the beans. They didn't put the usual cheese on the beans that other Mexican restaurants do and perhaps this is what made them so delicious. The time was right around 7 minutes before closing yet they still honored me to get a to go order before closing. Great people/delicious food. Will return again! Thank You for allowing me to order to go before you closed up!!

My family, & I just ate there last week, & we were highly impressed from the moment we walked in the door!! Great environment, excellent service, fast too, & THE FOOD was amazing! Definitely recommend!!

What a wonderful addition to Niles! Our food came quickly and was flavored so well! They were able to easily accommodate our party of 10 and our server was very friendly too. We will definitely be back!!

The decor here is phenomenal! Hard to believe this is the old Hob Nob restaurant.

The food was delicious, but unfortunately the service staff doesn’t seem to be properly trained. It was our servers first night on shift this evening, and so I don’t blame him at all for the experience we had.
Sunday night around 8:00pm. There were roughly about 7 occupied tables in the restaurant.
I ordered the vegetable fajitas. The menu states that it comes with rice, beans, guacamole salad and two tortillas. My husband ordered three soft shell chicken tacos (he had repeated his order to the server multiple times). When the food arrived, my husband had received three soft shell corn tacos. I received a platter of mixed cooked vegetables. When I had asked the server if the guacamole salad, rice, beans and tortillas were supposed to come with the veggies, his response was “I don’t know.” Having been a server for 10 years, I could tell he was new and I said “no worries! The menu just says it comes with all of these items” and I showed him the menu listing. He then asked me “do you want tortillas?” And I said “yes please, thank you.” He brought me three tortillas, but I never received my rice, beans or my guacamole salad…like I said, having known that tonight was his first night on the job, I can’t blame him. Why did the kitchen allow him to take the food to the table without the full order? This is a $17.00 meal. So, I would like to offer advice to the management…please make sure you train your staff properly and have experienced servers shadow the new servers for their first hand full of shifts to ensure that the customers are getting what they are asking for and paying for! Make sure that the back of house and the front of house are working TOGETHER as a team behind the scenes. OVERSEE your employees so that you can offer them constructive criticism when they make a mistake and help them succeed!!!! I really want to see this restaurant stay here in Niles… as the food that i DID get was actually very delicious!!

Had the Texas fajitas (regular fajitas with the onions and green bell peppers but with shrimp, chicken and beef. So good !!! Ordered the shrimp fajitas Quesadillas also good . The decor is really nice and definitely authentic and best of all it’s in Niles. Definitely give it a try if you’re wanting Mexican food you’ll be leaving happy and full . The service there is friendly and outgoing.
