Cantina Eastwood

The menu has different, authentic Mexican dishes and drinks which is always nice to find in this area. The food was great. The experience was fun. We had 5 kids in our party and we were waited on well.

This place is amazing. Fresh fresh fresh, the food is awesome. Had soup appetizer and two of the freshest tacos ever, one was even vegan and totally awesome.

We dined there for the first time this evening. It's an upscale restaurant, but the prices are reasonable. We liked the subdued lighting and atmosphere. It was very open with its large windows, but still seemed intimate, and we enjoyed the music which was definitely Mexican, but contemporary. We each had a drink, I had a soup and we both ordered enchilada dinners that we thought were excellent.

Though the portions were smaller than served in more traditional Mexican restaurants, they had more sophisticated and complex flavors and they were very fresh. We each had an excellent dessert that was larger than expected. The cost was $62. Well worth it for a a fine meal for two.

Honest review. I would say the food was good, not great, but good - four out of five stars. What knocks this down to 3 is the price. I don't mind paying good money for outstanding food. Unfortunately, I don't think Cantina Eastwood has outstanding food and it's hard with so many other great places to eat Mexican food like El Oasis and Pablo's in Old Town. We had chips and salsa that came with our meal - my wife really enjoyed it. Some of the chips had a lot of seasoning and others not as much, and the ones with less seasoning really complimented the salsa because the salsa was very flavorful. I had shrimp tacos: the shrimp was seasoned and cooked well. My wife had chicken tacos and the chicken was a little dry (a lot dry). Staff was super friendly. Overall decent experience, great atmosphere, good food. I think people could check it out and some people would enjoy it more than others, me and my wife want to come back to try the burrito, margaritas, and their desserts. I think they deserve another try because they just opened and I understand that.

Service was amazing with the soft opening. Staff was extremely polite and courteous from opening doors to the manager coming to talk to us to see if we enjoy our visit . Everything came out speedy and delicious . Drinks were very good from the michelada to the strawberry margarita. All around a great atmosphere
