The Avenue Café

Great vibes great staff and great crowd always. Oh, and the food is a surprise. Not what you'd expect from a "normal" bar. They do it differently and they do it well.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I love the ramen and it is great they are accessible to a variety of dietary restrictions like vegetarian and vegan. Also there is usually a good selection of local craft beer.

They also host a lot of cool events like the Dark Arts, Tease a Go Go Burlesque, the Starving Arts, Punks with Lunch, etc.

However as a music venue I would have to say it just doesn't work for me. The sound is not good IMO. Maybe it is good for certain music styles, but most shows I have seen there for the kind of music I like, the sound is disappointing at best. Since I am a musician, that is one of the most important parts of a venue for me. If I am going to pay to see a band, I want the sound to be good.

Come here for food, drinks, good company, and other local events, you will not be disappointed.

Always a good time. Love the chicken and rice bowl. Good crafts on draft. Great music for the most part if you’re not into “pop”. Love it when the bartender has the old school punk playing.

Nice and quick bartenders. The karaoke was a really fun. A very friendly vibe and I'm definitely going back.

We stopped here after drinking right next door and wow, what a difference! This place is awesome! Food was excellent, reasonably priced and the beer was pretty good! The music was a little too loud for me because I couldn't hear the person in front of me. Other than that, this place is pretty cool, and the crowd is a little interesting, but overall great experience!
