It's right downtown Jackson, and I never knew it was here! When you walk in, it is clear, that it is set up much like a deli. You are served quickly, so it is a great option for lunch, and probably even smarter to take some home for dinner. They have everything that you could want, sandwiches, paninis, salads, stuffed baked potatoes, and so many sides to choose from, like coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, and corn bread. Even the pickles are great! The pulled pork, corned beef and pastrami were excellent, actually the best we have ever had!. So was the mac and cheese! The portions are giant sized. You will not go home hungry! Everyone that ate lunch seemed to clean their plates, there was not a complaint by anyone! Instead of driving to Ann Arbor, you have got to get in here, and give it a try. They have limited hours, so you really have to make an effort to get in. Monday thru Thursday 11am to 3pm Friday 11 to 8. I recommend that you come as early as you can before they run out of anything!
Great food but call before you go. Spotty as to when they are open or not. I see people trying to go in ALL the time and they are closed. Losing a LOT of money Mat! :(
I love Matt's Cafe, great food, good portions. Sometimes service can be slow if there a restaurant full of people.
Best barbecue place in Jackson! They even have some good vegetarian options too!!
Some of the tastiest pulled pork around. I'm a big fan of the Mac-n-Cheese too!
