    The atmosphere is dark and cozy, like a study that smells of mahogany and many leather bound books. Their Smoked Sazerac is amazing! Its served with cold wood smoke on top. Yes you read it right. The food is wonderful as well.

    Traveling from out of town and we stumbled upon this place. The food and cocktails were absolutely outstanding! Our server was really great and very knowledgeable. Also, make sure you order the cheese biscuits! We got there right when it opened and as people came, you could tell it had a chill vibe about it with nice lighting. If you come to the "Zoo", this is the place to go for a nice time!

    Great restaurant in downtown Kalamazoo. Our server, Emma, did a great job including continuing to top off our water after we cashed out. I had the grilled broccoli which was a great light meal. Others at the table had the mushroom ravioli and mushroom fried rice. The fresh mushrooms used were fantastic. It was great enjoying a great evening outside in downtown Kzoo.

    We had an amazing time here! We were only in town two nights and after having such a great experience the first night we decided to spend the next night here too! Spencer and Autumn were fantastic. The food was so delicious- the cocktails even better. I would HIGHLY recommend!

    The Principle is an excellent dining experience. From the service to the food, there is little to complain about. I found the atmosphere reminded me of a prohibition style bar with a dash of Portland. It feels classy and sophisticated.

    I found the service to be top tier. Everything from my water glass to my food was tended to lovingly. I felt like I was the only person in the restaurant.

    The food was delicious and something worth taking the time to savor. You want each bit to last longer than the last and only wish there was MORE of it to eat. The food is definitely quality over quantity.

    You will also love the cocktails. Each are made to perfection with a full menu of options and pairings.

    Definitely a place worth your time and money.
