Great service and good food. We had a large group. Some dishes were a hit and some were a miss. Definitely recommend seafood over other dishes (afterall seafood is in their name). Lobster, paella, stuffed lobster, crab cakes and shrimp scampi looked amazing. Energetic atmosphere. Nice wine and drink selection. Overall great experience and definitely recommend.
This place was amazing. I was visiting Grand Rapids for business and my group originally had reservations at another seafood restaurant, but decided to go with this place because they were able to accommodate us sooner. Every single thing about this place was superb! The customer service, from reserving to leaving, was EXCELLENT! The food was AMAZING! And I will definitely be returning at some point for the oyster shot! Soooo delicious!
Of all the restaurants I've been to in Grand Rapids this is the one that had me thinking about the food days and weeks later!! We went there after seeing the Van Gough exhibit at DeVos and the restaurant experience was a better experience than the exhibit in my opinion. The service was top notch, with attentive staff who were also very informative. The tablet menu allowed you to see high quality photos of the dishes to make it much easier to decide what you want, or harder if you want everything like my wife and I 😂. Their take on New England clam chowder was a bit thin, but bursting with flavor making it one of my top 5 I've tried. The blackened swordfish was seasoned to perfection with a nice bit of bite from the peppercorn. The lobster was sweet and tender and tasted almost as good as fresh from the east coast. The seafood Alfredo was loaded with tasty pieces of shrimp, scallops, and salmon and was so filling my daughter had to bring half of it home! The one cocktail my wife tried was well made and had a nice blend of floral flavors that melded well with the gin. All in all it was the highlight of the day and we will be back in the future when we are craving fresh seafood!!!
Grand Rapids was lacking in choices for high quality seafood restaurants. Real Seafood Company is more contemporary and has a nicer atmosphere than Leo's. The food was excellent as well. Everything was cooked with precision and the depth of flavor throughout the dishes was impeccable. The service was extraordinary as well. Many restaurants overcook swordfish and make it too thick and dry, but their take on it was perfect. The scallops were phenomenal. I'm usually not a huge fan of alfredo, but the seafood alfredo was tasty and the scallops were so buttery and soft in it. The tuna tartare was nice and light on top of delicious charred sushi rice. The watermelon gazpacho was very unique but balanced out the seafood dishes. The creme brulee was done to perfection. I would love to come back and try more of their dishes. Also, I love that the menus are on tablets rather than paper.
I went with my real estate team for the soft opening and I was very happy with the service and food. Each course offered was tip top and the service was fantastic.
Grand Rapids has a wealth of dining options and a bona fide seafood restaurant was a much needed addition to our vibrant, growing city.
I’ll be returning again soon to try more of the menu!
