Asahi Sushi Restaurant

I love the sushi here. It is one of the best sushi places in the area. I subtracted a star because as other reviews reflect many of the staff are unfriendly. The woman who I believe is the owner once scolded me for rearranging my silverware and cup around on the table as I liked and literally reached over me to move it all back. I chalk some of it up to cultural differences. Some of the waitresses are very kind and attentive, some not so much. The sushi chefs are terrifically friendly and appreciative of tips. I have continued to frequent it for years because the sushi is amazing. If you can get past the couple of staff attitudes then the food and atmosphere is totally worth it in my opinion.

There isn't much to this strip mall restaurant. In fact, with the blacked out windows, you're not sure what you're walking into and you certainly won't be blown away by the decor. It's pretty minimal and small. But the focus is clearly on the food. The ingredients are fresh and well presented and taste great. It is a bit pricey but worth the money for crab, shrimp and lobster that both smell and taste good. The waitstaff is no-nonsense but not curt and the sushi chefs are serious but pleasant. This will be my go-to place when I'm craving sushi.

I come here once every month or two and this is by far the best sushi I've ever had. The atmosphere is comfy and traditional, which is super relaxing. Staff is super friendly and come by often to make sure everything is to your liking, answer questions, and are very patient. All of the food is absolutely amazing, hands-down the best in Southeast Michigan. Every time we eat here, it's the best restaurant experience we have. I absolutely love this place, and you will not be sorry for coming here, either for sushi or their delicious entrees.

Great sushi that is very reasonably priced. Each roll is very carefully crafted and some even look too good to eat! It is a small restaurant that is usually pretty busy. You wont leave hungry or unsatisfied. Service is always nice and quick.

This is my favorite restaurant. I’ve had sushi all over the world and am lucky to have this gem right in my backyard. Always consistent with great food and service. Try the Tropical Roll for dessert and a Cool Breeze or Mexican roll for dinner.
