We waited a while for this place to open. We are new to Shelby and never ate at their old location. Everyone raves about this place. It was clean and friendly. The menu was pretty basic, just a step above a coney. I was hoping the ocean in their name they would have a larger seafood menus. Still good food and I would definitely recommend.

grew up eating at this place once a week when it was down the street on Vandyke. Would walk after school for 3 years and go many times after. The food had changed doesnt seem to be the same recipes at all no wow factor and needs salt and pepper on everything we ordered. we will give it another shot to see if it was a off night but first review was a three.

Sadly I can only rate this new Ocean Breeze about a 3 out of 5 stars.
Was a fan of the original Ocean Breeze restaurant, so was really looking forward to them reopening at this new location. We also avoided going the first week they opened so they could work out some issues.
Went there on a Wednesday, arriving shortly after 5:00 and had about a 30 minute wait, which we anticipated
When seated, the table and seats were still extremely wet from being cleaned off. I also noticed the person cleaning the tables, using the same wet rag and just going table to table, and not using any cleaner or drying the tables after wiping them off. Poor sanitation.
We were seated and ordered about 2-1/2 hours after opening with the plan to try a couple different daily specials. We were told that one of the items we planned to order was already sold out. How does a restaurant run out of a daily special that soon after opening?
We ordered two different dinners, both with different soups too. The soups came in larger bowls then we remembered, however I felt the soups were mainly just broth.
Our dinner arrive quickly and hot. Nice portion sizes and the food was flavorful. One thing we noticed when being served, one of the dinners came with french fries, and a couple of those fries fell off the dinner plate and onto the severing tray. The server just picked up those fries and placed them back onto the dinner plate before setting that plate on our table. Again a sanitation issue.
Desert was good as well, but the portion size was smaller than we remembered from their original restaurant.
Lastly I felt their pricing was somewhat higher than other restaurants around in the same category.

We were there at 5:00 p.m. on opening day.. Gave our name and had to wait which was expected..however, after waiting 1 1/2 hours for our name to be called at 6:30, we were finally at 6:30, seated...didn't mind that at all as we new it was opening day and the place was super busy...now comes the fun...we were seated, waitress took our order... and that was the end of it for quite a while.. We didn't get our food until one hour later at 7:30 p.m...Waitstaff kept giving us an apology, explaining that they were overwhelmed with carryout orders and the kitchen could not keep up. They finally cut off the carryout orders and our food was served to us.. 7:30 p.m. We were very patient and understanding. The food was as before, very good, service except for the wait very good..Maurice Jr. kept giving patrons an apology.. however, I think something should have been given to patrons who had to wait so long such as free coffee, free ice tea, etc..We have been past regulars and will be regulars once again.. The menu is a little different but still good.. disappointed not serving breakfast..The chicken noodle soup is still delicious and the fish good... looking forward to our next visit, but will wait until things settle down a bit..consideration in all restaurants should always be given to in house patrons before carryouts..just saying.. overall great place to eat and great family..see you again soon..
