We planned to have lunch here on our way out of town on a Sunday and found a sign saying gey'd open at 2. Came back and the sign said 3. The bartender saw us hanging out in the backyard and let us in at 245. Short menu. Good handmade burgers, pretty good pizza, average fries, full bar, good jukebox. Seems popular with locals ( but where else they gonna go?) Classic UP dive bar + murder story. Set up for live music in the back. Might be a good place to hang in an evening.
This is a unique and famous place 🎬🎥🎟️🍻 for film industry professionals such as myself.🧐
A lot of "firsts" here, especially for film buffs or like me a Jimmy Stewart fan🤩
Went there because we wanted to try it for the history. Had the pizza as we were told by locals that the pizza is the best thing on the menu. Pizza wasn't bad, but definitely not a "must have." Choices are limited in this area. Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils was off-putting. When the pizza is too hot to eat by hand, good luck trying to cut the baked crust with plastic knives and forks on your styrofoam plate. They should bring the small selection of food to life with a little more effort.
Decor was cool - lots of antique chainsaws and items hanging from the ceiling and historic pictures and items on the wall. We had a burger and it was good. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend a lot of time there as they closed early (8:30 pm).
