A local gem, great meals and desserts. The meals include a roll and cookie (highly recommend lemon). Not to mention soups, jams, and dip mixes. Always a worthwhile stop when we are in the area.
I went in on a whim a couple of days ago. I am so pleased that I did. I took home some cinnamon bread and 4 breakfast pasties. Everything was excellent. My husband who doesn't care for pasties and throws out most of the crust, ate every last bit. These pasties have the best crust I have ever had and I even make my own.
The Recipe Box is the place to be! We have had the Jams, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin roll, artisan breads and today mushroom and swiss sliders! 10 out of 10!
Friendly staff, incredible food!
Highly recommend stopping by the Recipe Box in Stepenson, MI!! You won't be sorry!!
Stopped in today to check out the little Shoppe but especially to try out the pasties. Since Kamins Corner Bakery closed I couldn’t find a place that had good pasties. I will say the Recipe Box passed the test, they are delicious and reasonably priced. If your looking for a great pastie give them a try. The Shoppe has a lot of cute items in it also. Cute place ❤️
We just wandered in on Pasty day. Yes, you could glimpse them being made in the kitchen from the gift shop. Some cooling down, some waiting for a glaze of something extra to give them the special glow before going in the oven. All perfectly lined up, all uniform, we couldn’t pass them up! FRESHLY made in house that morning - not frozen.
Moist, tender, tasty. Not that dry stuff that reminds you of eating cardboard and the only way to choke it down is to smother it in
Ketchup. We have only found two places worthy of a second visit and this is one of them.
Note: Lunch feature changes daily and is a grab and go sort of thing. Call to see what’s on the menu for the week.
Fresh bread, local spices and jellies with an assortment of other things you need when giving a gift (or keep it for yourself) Fresh herbs and produce in season.
