Tsou's Place

Delicious food is always served freshly made to order by very nice owners. We have never had a bad meal here. This is a small, and friendly restaurant that is a gem right in our neighborhood. We love to come here to eat!

Wonderful place in a small town setting. I was teaching my daughter driving on freeways. So we made a trip to here from 50 miles away after reading reviews. We dined in with vegeterian entrees only with soups, fried rice, Tofu in Schechuwan sauce and vegetables in brown sauce. Food was very flavourful and different from what you expect at a typical Chinese place. Service was quick and friendly. Would like to visit again.Thank you!!!

3 Words....... "Gang Pang Chicken".... Out of this world delicious! No other Chinese food in the area compares... Period.

For anyone reading this and considering eating here, there is one thing you need to understand right away- this is NOT your standard take out place that has adjusted the recipes to cater to the fat and sugar craving American palette.

Instead, this is the most authentic Chinese food you are likely going to get in all of Michigan. If you want fried garbage covered in a vaguely Asian sugar sauce, Tsou's Place is certainly not for you. It's actual Chinese food cooked by a man (Tsou) who genuinely cares about the dishes he creates.

If you're going to eat here, you need to expect flavors/recipes that are different than you are likely used to in regards to Chinese dishes. The egg drop soup is a perfect example. It's not that thick and eggy chicken broth like you'll get everywhere else. It's a delicate and subtle soup with a closely guarded recipe (I've been asking for it for years).

Speaking of asking...ask Tsou where he gets his meat. Ask him why he doesn't advertise more. Ask him how long he's been a chef. You will not get the same answers from 90% of the "Chinese" restaurants or buffets in the surrounding area. That's because Tsou takes pride in his work and invests in his business in such a way that the customer benefits, and it absolutely shows in his cooking.

Something else you need to expect - in comparison to your run-of-the-mill Chinese places, there are somewhat smaller portion sizes. This stuff doesn't get shipped in bulk frozen bags and thrown into a wok. It's hand crafted in house, which means you aren't paying for quantity you're paying for QUALITY. The egg rolls are a good example. Hand made, in house, by Tsou. Not shipped in from a processed food factory on a truck. I would gladly pay for a smaller, tastier egg roll over a machine made deep fried roll of cheap cabbage any day.

No...Tsou's Place isn't like other Chinese restaurants, and that's what makes it fantastic.

Chinese takeout at its finest. Simply the best in the area. Great price
