Buddy's Pizza

The reviews have been brutal for this new location but I decided to give them a try. Pizza was ready on time but it was Friday afternoon and not busy. Overall the pizza had a good amount of toppings and the taste was fantastic. However, the crust did taste sightly burnt. It didn't look dark and I still enjoyed it but I can't give it five stars. The best Detroit style crust can be found behind this location at Guido's and even Jet's and Hungry Howie's does a better job with crust. Good pizza overall though and I'll give them another shot soon.

Our family has been eating Buddy's Pizza for decades and we have tried most of the locations (Dearborn, Ann Arbor, Livonia, Farmington Hills, Bloomfield, etc.) We were happy to hear that one was coming to Clarkston but a little concerned with some of the early negative reviews. Today for fathers day we decided to give the Clarkston location a try. Our Detroit Public Television and Hawaiian pizza (two family favorites) were as good as any Buddy's pizza I have had through the years! Loaded with toppings and the sauce was perfect. Our Antipasto salad was also chock-full of meat and cheese and the dressing was great. They are pretty busy today and the order was ready at the promised time (within a 1/2 hour.) Glad there is an excellent Buddy's location in our town now!

Ordered carryout from this Buddy’s the other day. The staff were friendly, efficient and professional. The food was cooked well and as ordered. We had an antipasto salad, cheese bread and a pepperoni 4-square.
The mural is also super-cool!

They're new and probably working out the kinks. It wasn't typical Buddy's quality. Rather, it was burnt and didn't have enough sauce. I'll give them another shot and tell them about my previous experience as I'm not alone in getting a lightly torched/black on the bottom pizza.

Update based upon 5/8/22 visit. Much better the second time around. To be fair I ordered the same pizza. No more burnt crust. I'll go again and again. They were beyond slammed for Mother's Day, but my order was ready by the time promised.

My advice to the powers that be is to allow the use of gift cards to pay for online orders. I had to drive to the store to place my order. The place was so busy that they couldn't answer their phones, even after being on hold for ten minutes, then another ten when I called back on my drive there. Having the ability to pay online with my gift card would have remedied that problem.

Way, way, way better pizza and kudos to the workers there for their efforts!
