The Royal Diner

This place is like the Bermuda triangle. The place could be packed. You blink. And your food is on the table. I've never had a bad meal here. I recommend. Open 24/7

Really debated on whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars. I love this place, it is one of my favorite places to eat. the fact that it is open 24/7 is a blessing to this earth and it has become iconic in my friend group as our go-to place to meet up and eat. Everyone needs a classic hometown diner and this is Clarkston's. The food here is great diner food, nothing amazing, but solid. I love the breakfast bowls.
BUT there are a few reasons it is not 5 star for me. The biggest reason is their policy on not seating people until their entire party has shown up. This is really annoying, especially since there is not a lot of space to wait as the entrance is always crowded with people waiting and people lining up to pay at the hostess counter. Also, the food here is a little pricey for diner fare, but the portions are big.

I just recently discovered the royal diner. I have only gone during breakfast time and all of my experiences have been excellent. The food is always delicious and don’t get me started on the coffee! They truly do have the best tasting coffee I have ever had! The service has always been great every time (server wise). It’s always super busy in the morning but that’s what a good restaurant looks like!
