Hong Hua Fine Chinese Dining

The best Chinese restaurants I have ever eaten at. Never had a bad meal.

Great authentic Chinese food. Best food is on menu written in Mandarin/Chinese though. Lunch specials great priced. Rarely have leftovers so good portion. Not too much like some restaurants.

Loved the duck - haven't had since living in Chicago in mini Chinatown and it brought back delicious memories. They accommodated our gluten free diner and the sweet and sour chicken for our other guest was spot on. The front desk staff was all business but kind - the rest of the staff was very warm and friendly. Prices match those of other fine dining Chinese restaurants. I do believe the rice was additional (I didn't pay the bill this outing) and comes in a small dish perfect size for 1 person or 2 moderate folk. All of us will definitely return.

Got takeout - it was just OK. Got calamari appetizer, it had good flavor but the breading was not very crispy, more toward the soggy - but the flavor with peppers and onions was pretty good. For an entree I got Mongolian beef, and it was average at best. The ingredients (peppers, onions, beef) seemed good quality, but the sauce was pretty sweet - not like most versions of this dish that I've had. Again, not horrible, but wouldn't order it again. And it is more expensive than most Chinese places. Not worth it in my opinion.
