How could anyone not give this place 5 stars?! Perfect fresh food with rotating menu. Good drink selection. Casual atmosphere. I love this place!
The first two times eating here everything was outstanding!!! Both times we left the restaurant very content and did not mind paying more for great food and service!
Today we ate at Mable Gray again but the experience wasn't quite the same. The service was great and very friendly, absolutely no complaints, BUT the food was a let down.
We were excited to eat here again but were not blown away with the flavors! We paid quite a bit and left the restaurant feeling disappointed.
The 4 stars is mainly for the excellent service but I only give 3 stars for the food.
This place is an absolute gem. The tasting menu is creative and an absolute steal at 65 dollars. The restaurant is intimate without being too cramped and the service is phenomenal throughout the entire meal. Each course manages to be better than the prior and the sizes actually leave you satisfied by the end of dessert. This place is definitely the most creative restaurant in detroit and worth the trip even though it is in a low traffic area.
Went for a takeover dinner (check out Mighty in the Mitten on Instagram ????????) which was phenomenal. Regular menu rotates based on seasonal availability. Staff is efficient and extremely knowledgeable. Seating at bar and tables is cozy and leans to feeling communal. It's a narrow restaurant (wheelchairs would be a tight fit but not impossible) and they only have 2 bathrooms. Small (but *free*) parking lot and street parking (be cognizant of street signs; not sure how aggressive they are on parking enforcement in Hazel Park).
Excellent service made this an experience rather than a good meal. Our server was very personable, thoughtful & attentive the entire meal. My sister and I both did the tasting menu and he explained each dish clearly to us, showed us how to eat them and never made us feel funny when we didn't know how. The food of course was outstanding. Each course was just a taste, but I left feeling very satisfied.
