Let me preface this by saying that my favorite BBQ is brisket. There are more than a couple restaurants in the area that feature brisket on their menu. The downfall with most is that their brisket is not consistently good, or it is not good at all. Well, Prime BBQ Smokehouse is one of those locations who do brisket consistently well.
I have visited a few times and have tried their brisket sandwich, brisket tacos and even their brisket by the pound. It has been delicious each time and the quality has been consistent. The brisket was moist and had a great bark. The Prime sauces are also very good. I am not an NC BBQ fan, but I even liked the NC Sauce.
The bourbon chicken was excellent. I ordered it by the pound and took home what I could not eat for leftovers. It was still delicious on day 2. It can not be overlooked that the prices are on par with other quality BBQ joints.
I am so glad we got another BBQ restaurant in the area. Prime BBQ Smokehouse is on my list of go to places when I want good BBQ at a decent price.
The barbecue at this place is fantastic. Excellent pulled pork, brisket, chicken and sides. The brisket melted in the mouth and was flavorful without being overpowering. Great value without compromising quality. Generous portions. Decor is inviting, the place is spotless, and service is quick and friendly.
This was some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. We had the Prime Meat Sampler—ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, smoked chicken, rib tips, lots of sides, Texas toast and cornbread. The meat was smoked to perfection. Not overly smoky, but just right—tender and moist, and I didn’t even bother with barbecue sauce because everything tasted so great without it. The real standout items for me were the brisket (which should be an award-winner— their method and recipe could be sold for a hefty sum) the pulled pork, smoked chicken, and the sausages. We also tried their bourbon chicken which was one of the best things I’ve had, and I dine out a lot all over the country. The sides were excellent as well, my favorites were the green beans, collard greens and house-made cornbread. They also have bowls, salads and sandwiches, which look good. And fried okra which I am excited to try. The menu items are extremely reasonably priced with generous portion sizes. The place was very clean, the staff super friendly and accommodating, and the space is pleasant and airy with large windows and a modern fireplace. I can’t recommend this place enough!
I've shamelessly had it twice in 48 hours. First order was a burger and it was delicious! The banana pudding was just like a good southern pudding! My second visit was the pulled pork sammie and it was juicy and delicious! I forgot to put the Prime sauce on it because it was so perfect already. Used that for the potato wedges and it was heaven! The hush puppies with prime sauce are where it is at! Loving this! So happy we have a fresh take on BBQ in Highland. Welcome to the neighborhood!
My goodness. The best brisket I've ever had.....brisket melts, ribs melt, I melt. Sauces are perfect! Owners are awesome let me try meats right out of the smoker. Clean and fast!! A1 guys!
