Genji Novi

Thank goodness for a nice, class Halal Hibachi restaurant.
These guys are great and not only is it one of the nicer Hibachi places — the sushi is also top quality.

I love Japanese Steakhouses because they're so entertaining. We went to Genji in Novi this past Saturday. The waitstaff was cordial and polite, and the food was pretty decent. I had filet mignon and lobster. The steak was tender, the lobster was just right, but the chef cooking it was hilarious. The most entertaining part was a 7 year old boy celebrating his birthday and how the chef interacted with him throwing steak across the table for him to catch it in his mouth. Toward the end he built him a volcano made of onions, and made caramel corn. This outing was well worth the $125 for a party of three. I'll definitely go back.

My wife and I went for the early bird special. The food was excellent. The cook was outstanding and funny. We had so much food we left with two bags. The cook made us Japanese caramel popcorn on the flat top cooking surface that was so good! We'll be back again and again!

We went there for their Sunday all-you can eat lunch buffet. Nice variety of sushi on Offering, soup and salad was good. Highly recommended buffet.

The lunch portions were pretty small (for dine in, not hibachi or sushi bar). There were a lot of options and it was pretty confusing because I just wanted to sit down and eat. The quality of the food and service was top notch and the restaurant was very clean.
