We live near Avery's Tavern and have been meaning to try it for a while. We weren't disappointed! We went there for date night and accidentally stumbled into trivia night, which we didn't win, though we did get a free beer for knowing the speed of light. The mango chicken was delicious and my husband's steak fajitas were perfect. They even had my favorite Blake's cider on tap. The service was excellent, the place was clean, and the food was great. Maybe next time it won't be 1 million degrees outside and we can actually try out their patio. :)

The atmosphere is good on the inside and there are plenty of TV screens, but some of the walls could use some paint or re-decorating. Hopefully this is a "work-in-progress" and is only temporary. My "better half" ordered the Calamari for an appetizer and even though the Calamari were big and tasty, she felt the portion was a little small as opposed to what she's had in other establishments. I had the Prime Rib Sliders, which tasted excellent and were a great value. Our waitress was very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and ensured our needs were met. The menu is quite extensive for a local tavern of this type, and it looks like many of the entrees and other selections were developed by the owners and are unique to this establishment, so anyone looking for a good meal would have a lot to choose from.

Food and service we're quite good. Accidentally found ourselves there on trivia night so we stayed longer than expected and had a great time. Will definitely come back and bring the whole crew.

I'm giving a medium rating on Avery's because I've had good and bad experiences. I've only been here 2 or 3 times. The first was very good. Had the California Croissant sandwich and house chips. A little messy to eat because of the avocado, but taste was good.

When we took our sons there a few weeks ago, we told them how great it was, and they'd love the hamburgers. My husband had been here quite a few times. Unfortunately, this was not a good day to go.

I got Nachos which were ok. Not the best I've ever had. What cheese there was was underneath the meat and a ton of lettuce.

My son's both got the Beer Cheese Burger which looked revolting to be honest. The manager told us that the beer cheese hadn't thickened like it should have. They should have come and told us that before serving it that way. The buns on both burgers where completely soaked in goo and inedible.

My husband got pizza since it was half off day. When it arrived, the pizza was partially burned on one side where there was no cheese on the pizza. Since he'd ordered pepperoni and extra cheese, not sure how 1/4 of the pizza got no cheese. The manager made him a replacement pizza herself.

The best part was dessert that the manager comped us. The Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet was to die for. I only planned on having a bite or two, but couldn't stop eating it. Unfortunately, we got a carrot cake to go for my husband without looking at it before we left. They poured caramel sauce over the whole thing. Carrot cake is incredibly sweet already and doesn't need caramel dumped on it, especially when the menu doesn't say it's made that way.

I'm sure this was just a really off night. We'll be back ... especially for the cookie skillet!!
