Detroit Eatery

Stumbled upon Detroit Eatery a few months ago and have been hooked every since. Best food in Royal Oak (in my humble opinion) and definitely one of the best gyros I’ve ever had. Don’t forget the samosas!

We found this place during Arts, Beats and Eats and ordered the NY Style chicken platter and loved it. The staff has always been accommodating and super friendly. I don’t live close so I usually order additional NY style chicken platters for next days lunches but request everything including the sauces to be packaged individually and they always take care of me. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Epic food fix. Seriously so sooo good. Lamb and chicken rice bowl w extra sauce was the thing I've eaten in so long! Go now to Detroit eatery you will not be disappointed!

I know the owner and their gyro with rice is a legit special that gives you an amazing bang for the buck. The gyro with rice is so good, on top of being halal (so Muslims and Jewish people who stick to kosher can have it). The meat quality and grade is a lot higher then surrounding restaurants in the area. It's just a perfect place to grab just enough food, that tastes great, without breaking the bank. Highly recommend. Oh and customer service is always awesome here too but that you would have experienced either way.

Detroit Eatery has one of the best chicken and lamb gyro combos.This was the perfect dish to satisfy my late night craving. The meat was marinated to perfection. I also tried the meat pies, eat bite was more savory then the last. If you have not tried this place out yet but are a fan of gyros over rice please do, you are missing out!
