Stopped by for a bite to eat and a beer with my wife and baby on a Saturday afternoon. Turned out to be a great place, the Reuben and the grilled cheese were delicious and the bartender very kind and conversational. Looks like a great place for an informal date night.
Beer was good, the starter section was a bit different. Food was good, but when your in Royal Oak you get used to fresh stuff. The chicken tenders, poppers, and wings are straight from freezer to fryer. Wasn't bad, nothing wrong with freezer to fryer.
I have been employed in the city of Royal Oak for over 20 years, but I live in a different city. I have visited this bar/grill numerous times over the years. I have never been a "regular customer". Wether I have been here for a beer & burger for lunch or an after work outing for someone's birthday, I have enjoyed myself here. If you are looking for atmosphere and the most popular place to hang out in Royal Oak, this place isn't for you. If you're looking for a hardy lunch, the burgers are delicious. If you want to hang out with friends in a relaxed atmosphere and have beers and appetizers. It is dark and cool in the summertime. In the winter it's dark and warm. A great neighborhood bar & grill with a friendly & attentive bartender/cook. It's a great local "hole in the wall".
Love this place! Great bartenders and drink specials. Make a mean burger! Great place to catch a game. Great karaoke on the weekends as well. Has a bit of that rustic, hole in the wall vibe, make no mistake though very friendly and welcoming. Can be a hoping place on the weekends. Try em out!!
Went here on a Friday for karaoke and had a good time. It's a little on the smaller size, but their decor definitely caters more towards the "dive bar" crowd. It's not a knock against them, there's room for all different types of bars. And with Royal Oak being trendy, there's really a lack of these types of establishments nearby.
Great place to just go and grab a beer after work.
