“This is one of the best Jimmy Johns in town. I have a short lunch break so I don’t have time to waste. Consistently, I’ve never waited more than 3 minutes to get my sandwich. My order is almost always correct and the staff is always lively and friendly. Great service every visit. My only complaint is that the delivery service is hit or miss, but I usually order in shop and have never once had a problem while on site. I’ve been to the other location on Big Beaver and the quality of staff and service from this location is miles ahead of the other. If you want jimmy johns and you’re within a two mile radius of Big Beaver rd, go to this one.”

“Gran Castor or "Great Beaver" had the CLEANEST kitchen I've ever seen. Hands down. You could've made food in the mop sink. This place is the holy grail of kitchens. “Having just moved from Louisville and going through some serious BBQ withdrawals, I decided to give this place a go. I went with the half rack with a side of beans and coleslaw. The ribs had great bark on them, and were flavorful. They may have been just a touch dry, but it was probably because they were a little undersized. The very polite lady who waited on me noticed this when plating my to-go order and threw in an extra rib for my trouble. I was also on the fence about getting coleslaw (because I am more of a vinegar slaw fan than mayo) and she gave me a sample to try before I committed. I have to say--very impressed with the food and service! The baked beans were excellent too, which is sort of my benchmark for a great BBQ place. Anyone with a smoker can put how have decent barbecue, but when the sides are good you know you have a winner.”

“First of all let me just say every time I go there I'm surprised that it's not standing room only. This place makes almost everything from scratch, the staff is super nice to me and my family, and if you haven't been there and you like burgers you got to try the Manhattan it is awesome. I really like that it's a family-run place, and you can tell the care they put into what they do. They're always closed over the holidays which I appreciate even though I'm usually looking for someplace to go with my family LOL. Overall it's not the fanciest place in the world but it is our family's favorite restaurant.”

“Very friendly service. Nice ambience. The dishes are hit and miss. Some are great and some are just OK. I was disappointed in my recent visit. Our entrees came with soup or salad. Our server didn't let us know that the Manhattan clam chowder has a $6.50 up charge. When questioned upon receiving the bill, she said she gets that a lot. I've never had a soup with a $6.50 up charge. It wasn't right to not be told upfront, especially when she admits she gets that question a lot. I shouldn't have paid it.”

“I love the entire ambiance of this place, and how all the names of the burgers are Detroit/Michigan based. Our waitress was outstanding. Very knowledgeable of the menu, and really impressed me when we questioned one of the burgers we ordered (we couldn't see the pulled pork), she said "it's under the cheese"! Most of the items on their menu you'd find at a middle Eastern or Lebanese restaurant. They also offer a few Egyptian specialties. It's all fresh, delicious, and fairly priced. Highly recommended.”
