Forbidden City Chinese Restaurant

The food was good. We had very few veggies and lots of meat in or dishes, which was a little disappointing as I like a nice balance. The soup was warm, but not hot.

But the egg rolls were FANTASTIC! Crispy on the outside, not soggy and full of oil on the inside. A++ rating from me on that. This right here is why I will go back again and try a different menu item. I normally do not like egg rolls.

Prices are a little higher in my opinion, which may be due to the meat to veggie ratio in the meals? Lots of meat in the meat dishes.

The service was adequate. The restaurant was not busy, but did we have to wait and wait for the server to check on us and get our drinks refilled.

The interior of the restaurant is a little darker than you may be ise to. Not Red Lobster dark, where you need a headlamp to read the menu, but not as bright as many others. If you are sensitive to bright lights like I am, regular glasses worked fine in here.

If I want Chinese and I'm near Saginaw, this is the only place I will go! :) Their food is truly delicious here. Hardest part is deciding which dish to get!

Not a great location, but the food more than makes up for it.

Was a bit skeptical about this place even though I've only ever heard good things about it. Decided to have lunch there and got a sampler set for two. Everything tasted great with the exception of the egg rolls - there was nothing wrong with them, I just prefer spring rolls instead. The platter even came out with a small fire pit in the center in case you wanted to cook the beef skewers (very good) longer - nice presentation...

Along with a friendly server our lunch experience was very good.

sizzling rice soup changed my life! looks a little shady from the outside...but their food is TO DIE FOR. definitely making a trip to come back!
