Olive Garden Italian Restaurant

Bread sticks were not as good as usual. Salad needed a bit more dressing. Entrees were good. And good service. Blue Hawaiian was delicious!

Food is always great, but I will never make reservations for a party there again. I called 5 days before my MIL 50th birthday and told the girl on the phone that there will be 11 people there. I made reservations for 6pm but I asked the girl if I could show up at 5:45pm to set up 4 balloons and 2 table toppers because it’s my MIL birthday and she doesn’t know we will be there (she thought it was just her and her husband). The girl told me that there will be no problem with that. So my husband & I get there at 5:45 and we are told we have to wait 5 minutes for a table to clear. As it gets to be 5:55pm i ask the girl how much longer and told her I have a balloons and a table decor I need to set out before my MIL shows up at 6. She then tells me that they are waiting for people to finish eating and it could be as long as 20 minutes. By this time the host was extremely rude and training a girl. I could hear her talking about us to the trainer and rudely stating that it’s our fault! I’m pretty sure the point of making reservations for a specific time is so that when you get there at that time, the table is already for your guests to sit down at! I was extremely livid and the surprise ended up ruined because we didn’t get our table until 6:20pm and my MIL walked in while we were standing there waiting. If you have plans to reserve a large party, don’t make it at Olive Garden.

It's not high end Italian cuisine, but that's not why I go there. I'm always satisfied when leaving. Staff are great at their job. I like the fact that they always check on the tables frequently. The food consistency is spot on. I know what to expect every time for food and service which is why I now go for that experience. Whether or not the manager has an iron thumb on all staff, don't change anything. You've trained the front and back staff well. Reward them often and not just with an end of year staff party. I tip them well because no matter who I have serve me, it's always perfect. The cooks don't miss a beat either. Keep up the good work.
The only thing that saddens me is their meat sauce has pork in it, which I can't eat. Wish they offered a beef only meat sauce.

Although this place is busy and lively, a live accordionist (organetto), violinist, or any other Italian instrumental player would make this place the number one place to visit in the state. If this ever happens, email me and I'll book in advance and pay a premium.

Marcus always goes above, and beyond for his customers! I couldn’t ask for better service! I will recommend this location based off him alone! Also, a great job to the kitchen! I have had nothing but excellent food from the Fort Gratiot location. Thanks for an all around great experience every time I come here!!

We are Ontarians visiting and came to your Olive Garden for dinner. The waitress that was assigned to us was incredible! Her name is Hayley and she was incredibly personable and funny. If you are going, request to sit at one of her tables. You won't regret it. It's so refreshing to experience when customer service is slowly going down the toilet.
Food was amazing - of course.
The only complaint is that we got sat in a booth behind a wait stations where there was a cupboard/drawers of supplies. Every time wait staff would access that, I could feeling the closing and opening against my back. Just something to be cognizant about for your customers.
Good job and we'll definitely be back again.
