I love Bert’s!
In honesty... The service is consistently bad, BUT this is one of Detroit’s gems and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Karaoke on Saturdays brings out some of the most hidden talent in the city and I just love supporting this establishment! Great clientele and always fun! They even have vegan and gluten free options to boot!

The people are super nice, beautiful music and dancing. The ribs were TO DIE FOR but everything else was kind of weird. You have to get your drinks super overpriced from the vending machine, and the sides were plain out nasty. The Mac and cheese looked phenomenal so I was excited, but then the flavor was bland and disappointing. Cornbread was extra dry and crumbly. Rice and gravy was disgusting, and the peach cobbler was nasty. It was more like a soggy, cornsyrupy canned peaches pie, and was the most disappointing thing about the meal. But that doesn't mean you should go here! Just be careful with what you order. These were the best ribs I've had in my life, with an amazing tangy barbecue sauce and huge amounts of meat that melted off the bones into your mouth. It was nice to sit and eat and enjoy the music and watch people dance. I'd go back but I'd bring my own drink and just order the ribs.

Love this historic music venue. Friday night's free to enter, with live music, the band & lead singer are awesome! Great food w/good service! Weekends are great!

The server was welcoming and the food was great. I had the veggie burger because I wanted to try it. Though I wouldn't try it again in the near future, I wouldn't mind eating another. The yams were good and the fries were delicious. J highly recommend this place!
