I've gotten takeout from here twice so far. The first time everything was great. The second time two of the three things we ordered were just as good. The beef dish we got was way dry-almost jerky-like. It's a new place, opened in the middle of a pandemic, so I don't expect perfection and am still happy to order again.
I had the char siu bao, stir fried duck, and the egg roll... I would have loved to try the rest of the menu right now. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant. There is no boiling hot chicken and rice with maybe one piece of broccoli. No, this is authentic and vibrant. There was not a moment I was like"This is boring" .. nor did i really want to put my food (or chopsticks) down. Most of the food will be considered spicy but it's never overpowering. I absolutely will be visiting in person when the pandemic subsides.
Food is good. Not your standard chinese/american takeout. More true to szechuan cooking, with real chinese peppercorn.
But be prepared to wait for a long time past the time you ordered and have the staff not pick up the phone. Very frustrating.
Edit: I upped this review from 2 to 4 because 45 minutes after the time my phone was estimated to be ready the worker called me to apologize for ignoring the crowd of people knocking on the door of the restaurant, and he gave me a refund. I know it is a new business, so I hope they can get the kinks worked out.
Food was incredible! We had the wantons, stir fried duck, yangzhou fried rice, gung bao and the beef chao fun! Everything was cooked to perfection. My wife and I will definitely be returning!
