Had a much needed night out with friends here and we were all so impressed. We tried something from each restaurant and loved everything we ordered! You must try the dumplings...amazing. They are also taking covid seriously and ordering food is non-contact with your food being brought to you in take out containers. The staff were friendly and attentive as well. Definitely going back :)
Bankok 96: The pad Thai roll is awesome! The noodles are put in a wrap and then covered in peanuts and a sweet sauce. I went for medium spice which has just enough kick for me (I’m not good with spice usually)
Halal Street: I got the sweet and spicy lamb pita which was gorgeous! The lamb was moist and the pita bread was warm and fresh
Bangkok 96 ??
Got dinner with some friends and while deciding, I saw a fried sandwich looking plate over at a table of Detroit cops. I asked them what it was and they said one of the workers from Bangkok 96 made it extra for them, but it’s not on the menu. The offered to share a piece and it was delicious! It had meat, rice, veggies, sauce, some spices inside a fired dough wrap.
When she came out to check on the cops, she checked on my table too and offered to make another one! I tipped for her thoughtfulness, but I wish it was in the menu.?
The food was excellent, atmosphere was great. Highly recommend!
This place was so much fun!
A good selection of food. Drinks. They had stand up comedy going on. There was volleyball in the back. There was a podcast studio upstairs.
I wish I had gone here earlier. It’s an awesome gem in Detroit. I will definitely be going back!
Fun food hall-type concept that’s great for groups and couples. They have some indoor and outdoor seating and a volleyball court too. Each of the establishments that comprise Detroit Shipping Company have their own reviews as they really are separate entities basically housed under one roof/a bunch of shipping containers put together.
