Loved the variety of the sliders and the prices. The New England clam chowder soup is one of the best I ever had. While you wait to be seated you can go out back and sit at one of the picnic tables and order drinks from the outside bar. If the tables have people sitting at them and there is room, some of the guests will let you share a table with them while you wait. You can also enjoy the music and the outdoor atmosphere on a warm summer night. Service moves pretty fast especially if there is a concert or sporting event going on because people want to eat and get going.
Our favorite sliders of the evening were the Lansing hot chicken, catfish and the almond duck. Our daughter's favorite was the katsu, crispy pork shoulder. Be sure to try the "mystery meat" and the "mystery cocktail." This is a great place to go if you want to get full without breaking the bank or for those on a first date whose pockets are "limited."
Everything is small sandwiches in the "slider" size or similarly small side dishes. They have a wide variety of options and so far I've not had a single one I didn't like a lot. The prices are fair, especially when you consider the consistently good flavor of the food. It's not heavy, but it's not health-food either. The atmosphere is 1950s knotty pine horse racing themed bar. It's hard to say for sure, but it appears to be an authentic vintage decor. It gets crowded at meal times so plan accordingly.
I went to green dot as not the biggest burger fan. But I would eat here every week. It encouraged me to try new things and crazy flavour combinations I would never think of. The fries are perfect and the prices make it even better. Such a cool little place to eat and drink.
The food is great! The price and size of three small sliders works out to about the same as one normal size sandwich at another restaurant, but you get to taste three different things! The truffle and herb fries are amazing, too. They also have pop (or soda for those visitors from outside the Midwest) made with syrups from a Detroit company called Leonard's. Their ginger ale/beer is (dare I say) better than Vernor's!
Lovely old Detroit sliders bar. Wide range of slider options, including truly tasty vegan and vegetarian options. Solid beer selection, easy parking, and affordable food. Doesn't get much better than this! Beware visiting on days with multiple sporting/concert events tho, as this place is packed on those days and you may need to wait for a table. Also, it is useful to know that they do not seat incomplete parties, everyone must be present to be seated.
