Great food. Fantastic views. Elevator ride up is awesome! Not crowded at all in September Bar is very cool space that can be visited whether you eat there or not. Quite a romantic cozy spot far above the city.

My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary this past Saturday- this was the best meal we've ever had!! I'm serious; all the food was prepared perfectly. As my husband put it "I've never been that please with a salad in my life!" (Gem lettuce). I could've had an entire plate of the beef tartar and been thrilled. Each course was wonderful. And their sommelier Alexandra was perfect in suggesting wines for us, very personable and easy to talk to. While this is high end dinning, the restaurant doesn't feel stuffy; its very comfortable with very friendly staff. We will be back and with lots more people!

Ambience was nice although windows were dirty and was well overdue for a cleaning. While our server was great the kitchen manger was not. The steak was not prepared as requested, medium . When this was communicated, the manger brought the steak back out to the table after they cut into without permission in the kitchen and said it was prepared medium in the middle though they were not able to meet the accommodation of medium throughout the steak. It was pretty insulting to see the staff cut into the steak more than I already cut and not able to meet our request. For the cost of the steak this should have been prepared to perfection. The scallops were also less than desirable as they lacked flavor. Dine with caution.

We had an amazing experience! Upon making the reservation I entered into the comments that it was our anniversary, not sure if it would make any difference in our experience but to our surprise every staff member we encountered gave us well wishes as well as a little happy anniversary card served with our dessert The food was amazing, and our servers Tim and Lynn were exceedingly exceptional. 22 years ago we became engaged here and 20 years after marriage the Highland and staff exceeded our expectations!

This place is a must for those looking for a fine dining experience with the best view in Detroit. The service was spectacular the drinks were top-notch the remodeling they did inside is completely new and has a mid-century cozy vibe. If I were to give one suggestion I would say the food was a tad bit salty and normally I would not put this in a review but when it comes to spending a couple hundred dollars between two people ($75 per person 3 course meal and dessert plus add ons and drinks)I'm going to be very detailed with my evaluation. Overall it is definitely worth the experience and the spectacular view of the Detroit river and Canada.
