A slice of real Detroit. Don't be deterred by the surroundings
Old neighborhood bar. Great owners. Limited menu selection, but the food is good try the shrimp dinner
Classy. The Ivanhoe Cafe, also known as the Polish Yacht Club, is a great place to get good food, get a drink and relax. It is in a totally disreputable looking neighborhood, but you will be there in the daytime and there are people who watch the cars. But seriously, grab your friends go to the PYC order way too much food, have a beer and chill. Its that kind of place.
the cole slaw was best i ever had. service was unbeatable! soup was like my Grandmas. pound cake for dessert was fresh and just sweet enough. french fries were not frozen kind. they were delish. the fish however was just a tad overcooked. still better than many places.the Polish food was all perfectly Polish. delish. will i go back? oh yes for sure.
Also known as the Polish yacht club (PYC) This place is legendary! If you grew up in Detroit you must visit this Detroit landmark. Be prepared! It's in the middle of a rundown neighborhood and it's located in an old house. It is very nostalgic in the same owners and staff have been working there for 30 years. The food is simple and excellent!
