La Noria Wood-Fired Bistro

Wow!!! Never expected to find such a gem in its location! I found it on Yelp and thought we'd go check it out for a birthday dinner for two. I was really skeptical based on the surroundings and unpaved parking area but I'm so glad we came in to give it a try!! It was like we walked in through a portal to Spain! The food was absolutely delicious. We got the calamari appetizer and two pasta dishes and cleaned our plates!! It was wonderful!

The decor is lovely. The chicken parmigiana was the best I've ever had. The chicken had a delicious crispy coating and it was tender. Wonderful and tasty spaghetti sauce. Great wine list. Can't wait to go back! Yum...

Wanted to get dinner before going the the Senate Theater. I wasn't quite sure of the restaurant but decided to give it a try since it's down the street from the theater. I'm so glad I stopped in. The atmosphere is amazing. The food and service was great. I will definitely be returning even if there isn't a show at the theater.

Immediately one of my new favorite restaurants! Wonderful and hit the spot in every way. Try the crickets if you're adventurous! It's so refreshing to find a down-to-earth, delicious, and legit place amidst all the trendy, flashy, hipster restaurants in Detroit nowadays. Bravo, la Noria!!

Staff is very attentive. Food was good. My only critic was that our group was six minutes early for our reservation, we were instructed to wait at the bar but before the bartender could even get all of our drinks our table was ready. The table had been vacant so not sure why it was suddenly available. We could have just sat near the hostess table instead of feeling rushed from one spot to the other.
