The Block

I love their brunch. They used to have the sweet potato mini muffins for brunch and then discontinued them. I hope they return. Great small but chill atmosphere.

We had a play to attend later in the evening, so we thought we would try this place. We were a bit skeptical, but we were so wrong. Everything was outstanding. Specialty brisket fries for an appetizer, stiff drinks, delicious chicken sandwich and delectable macaroni and cheese. Just sorry we were too stuff to try dessert...maybe next time. Stopped here after a concert for a drink and a snack. Ended up staying for dinner. Very friendly service and a great neighborhood atmosphere. Small menu with a great variety. Something for all four of us and the food was delicious. Definitely would come back here for lunch or dinner.

Solid. Rock solid Block. Solid service, solid happy hour, solid food and drinks. On a busy night they really took care of us. We had almost all of the happy hour food and drink specials and really liked them all. I had the Alfredo Mac and a delicious burger. We are definitely going to come back.

Location is good perfect spot on Woodward. Walking in we were greeted by a wonderful hostess, she seated us right away. But the service on the other hand wasn't as wonderful. Waitress was really nice but a bit overwhelmed and couldn't keep up. Place had good vibes, and music. Now down to the appetizers and meals.The Block Mac and bland maybe tried it on an off night because a lot of people raved about it and said it was one of the best sellers. Chicken sandwich had too much going on. Might have been too much shredded lettuce and it was a bit on the sweet side. The WINGS on the other hand was the best I've ate in some time, fries were good also. The lemonade was also delicious, just right. The dessert was good had the German Chocolate cupcakes. If they made the menu a little bigger on the options that would be ideal! Overall I'll go with a 3.75.

The new kid on the Block is taking over. Their take on the Salmon BLT is the best, the salmon was seasoned to perfection, cook to order, rare, medium or however you prefer with the combination of the toasted Walnut cranberry bread, it was savory and sweet. The street taco, shotgun shrimp, Smokehouse burgers and Turkey burger were holding their own. The Bloc Mac the best in the business. Please try it, You will love every morsel. The staff was awesome too, it was my best dining experience in Detroit so far.
