Had the food at a birthday party...cabbage and jerk chicken was tasty. Had to go in the restaurant to place an order 2 days later. Tried calling to place my ordered..kept getting disconnected and sent to voicemail. Food was good tho..don't know what's up with the phone. Oh yeah..beef patty was ????.

Was absolutely stoked to find a Jamaican place near by. The fried plantains were very good and I loved the beef patties. I can't wait to try the goat next time.

I love it so much! Wish they had red snapper available and more menu's available they ran out. The food is the BEST I tasted thus far. The prices aren't bad neither. I will be back for sure.

Detroit is lucky to have solid Jamaican food options. Jamaican Pot is one of them. I ordered a full tray of jerk chicken and plantain for a Memorial Day get together after having had some at a birthday party the day before. The chicken is deboned thigh meat so there's more meat per square inch, it's not nearly as messy, and Jamaican Pot flavors it perfectly - it's addictive, as is the plantain. Make sure to order at least 24 hours in advance for catering and allow some breathing room for pickup. It's not fast food. Note: They threw in a free meal of my choice with the catering. I opted for curry goat and asked for oxtail gravy over the rice. The goat was perfectly seasoned and tender and the oxtail gravy brought the rice and peas to life.

Oh my God, how come food taste so amazing?????!!

So I wandered into a CVS and ask the pharmacist what I should eat around here. He told me his dad owns a Caribbean ethnic grocery store, and that the owner of the Jamaican Pot (named Rose) buys from him. He told me to get the jerk chicken platter with the plantains and the rice with beans and peas. And I got the rum cake.
Holy cow there aren't enough words to describe how amazing this was. And I drove right by Motor City Soul Food to eat here.

I need to eat there every day! The cashier said people do.
I need to try the curried goat. The oxtail. Anything they do!!
