We had a great night. Awesome experience and amazing service. There's an outdoor patio for the smokers and good food at reasonable prices. Close to the airport and interstate. Truck parking in the back. They even have a hotel in the same building.
Great service and food. Had the Ruben, onion rings and wings... Everything was very good.
We happened to be staying at the hotel across the street from the hotel this bar/restaurant is in. And since there is literally nothing close by except a fast-food restaurant famous for the trillion burgers it has sold, we ate here.
Upon entering we were greeted by the barmaids/waitresses who told us we could sit wherever we like. We sat near the front, to gain a little distance from the bar patrons who were chatting and also to get away from the noise of the TVs. The waitress told us about their specialties, and about their specials and their soups.
We place our orders and it didn't take long to get our food. My wife had a turkey Reuben sandwich and I had a regular Reuben sandwich. I also had a salad and my wife had soup. We were both impressed with how good the food was. I gotta say that the pastrami in my sandwich was tasty and had very little fat. This was among the top three or four that I have ever had.
We had no alcohol or sodas and only drank water. Our total bill with tip came to $27.00, so we consider this not a bad deal at all.
I should point out that the waitresses are very friendly and helpful, and while the décor ain't much to look at, you gotta remember you are in a bar/restaurant in a budget hotel about one mile from the Detroit airport. If you are looking for high-end décor, you might try one of the casinos downtown.
But, I do not go to restaurants for the décor.
I go for the food.
And I would definitely eat here again.
Need a half star. The server was extremely friendly, the food was delivered quickly, the portions were large, and the price was very reasonable. This is not an upscale establishment.
We were stuck in Detroit because our flight to New York was cancelled. No place to go we walk next door to wnigs bar and grill. It was so nice we had drinks and dinner and met a nice couple from Detroit the waitress was great friendly and made us feel welcome I would go back. Thanks wings for a great evening
