Grotto Pizzeria & Tavern

My friends Debbie and Roger love Grotto too!! I had Gnocchi filled with soft cheese. Delicious!!

Very good atmosphere. Nice decor inside and out. Smells great walking up. Food was just as good! Would definitely recommend!

I was super pleasantly surprised by this place. It used to be a little factory bar called "C-Dawgz", which was a fun place with a good burger. But Grotto has flipped the script and is now a pizza place centered around a beautiful open pizza oven.

Wow, the delicious Italian smells that fill the small space will really whet your appetite. I've only tried the vegetarian pizza so far and it was deliciously perfect. Cheesy, great crust and generous toppings. There are salads, entrees, appetizers and many pizzas which I plan to try next time and the times after.

The inside is the same space, but it's definitely a change from the C-Dawgz days. The booths have beautifully finished natural wood tops as does the bar. The lights are dim and the feel is intimate. Great place to bring the family or even a casual date.

The take-out business was really humming and that would be a great option, too. There is plenty of parking and a casual but elegant vibe. The Grotto is a welcome Downriver Italian-inspired addition which will surprise you and you should try.
