The waitress was very sweet, helpful and I give her five stars. Great customer service. hopefully the rest of the restaurant especially salsas and quality can improve. The flautas were good. The margarita was an awful mix flavor, I got watermelon. we ordered chips and salsa and the chips were great but all of the sauces are a miss. The avocado salsa is the only one worth eating. the torta my daughter got was big and delicious and she really liked the french fries. She also got a sope but it was soggy and she only ate half. She said she would not get it again. I got the chimichanga with steak. there was mostly black beans inside the chimmi which made it really mucky and overpowered the steak. The tortilla was folded so that the chimmi was only about 1/4 full. It was just a pile of tortilla! I am so glad I asked for the chimichanga sauce on the side because it was disgusting. the beans were okay. the rice was ok. We were charged additionally for more salsa when we asked for something different to go with the chips and salsa we paid for, because the sauce was awful and the sauce they brought us to replace it with was awful. also, the table we were set at had an uneven leg that they had rolled napkins under and it continued to rock back and forth. anytime you touched the table or picked something up. we love authentic Mexican and we're excited to find a new place close by, we are hopeful they improve and that they learn to make salsas correctly.
Delicious food, reasonable prices, what more could you ask for? The chiliquiles verdes were very good. Everything was cooked perfectly, and food came out super fast. If you're in the circle pines-ish area, check them out!
It’s a solid Meh from me. It serves its purpose, but it’s definitely not anything to seek out or tell a friend about.
The NY Strip (why is there no carne asada?) was fairly bland and packed with rice, lettuce (whyyyyyy 😩😩), black beans (that I asked for) and bland “fiesta blend” cheese. Little thin cuts of beef in there. No pico. No hot salsa. None of that. Just plain. No spice. Nothing.
I have no idea what the dine-in guacamole looks like, but the to-go version was comical. For that price you get a little sauce cup of off-the-shelf guac with absolutely no flavor. They literally buy this stuff off of Sysco or US Foods and add a sprig of cilantro to the top. Then give you 2 comically large lunch bags full of chips. Chips were tasty tho!
There’s a grocery store across the street, you could get more generic guac for a whole lot cheaper to add to your to-go meal.
Anyways. Off to go drink some hot sauce now.
We’ve been coming here for dinner regularly but today was our first breakfast experience - tomorrow might be our second! Wow, how did I not know breakfast was an option?! We had the Abuelita Pancakes and an order of Huevos Rancheros and shared. So amazingly delicious. The pancakes tasted like fresh, warm sweet rolls - they tasted like love and grandma’s kitchen and Christmas and all-things-good. And the huevos?!?!? PERFECT level of hot, breakfast potatoes were sublime, my only regret was not getting a side of beans with the dish - but there’s always next time. I am so grateful to live within walking distance.
What a surprise... expecting a Taqueria and got a full restaurant experience. The food taste was amazing, the dish selection was excellent and the service a five start. Home made chips and tortillas, this make this joint a special one. Will come back as a regular customer.
