Grand Portage Island View Restaurant

Food was very good! The lake view is beautiful from the dining room. They have a different special everyday. plus menu offerings. Currently the restaurant is open from 7 a.m to 8 p.m. The staff are all friendly! Enjoy!!

Highly recommend the pizza. We had great service! Smash burger and pizza was so good. Server was super nice and prompt with drinks and refills. We had breakfast this morning and it was also good. 👍

The food is phenomenal. Erin is an excellent waitron. She will remember your order and take good care of you. Yes, they are a bit understaffed at the moment but the food far makes up for the wait. The pancakes, fried green beans, and Walleye are spectacular! There is always a very inexpensive daily special. The best one is the coconut shrimp 🤤. I'm. Pescatarian and there are PLENTY of options. My wife is vegetarian and the kitchen will accommodate the restrictions easily. If you're willing to wait, the food is worth it!!

This place was nothing short of amazing. We were seated in a somewhat timely manner. Our server took our drink order and brought them out in an ok time. We placed our food order upon delivery of our drinks. The flies kept us entertained while we waited for our food. A couple walked in and were seated across the room. They must be wise as she brought a fly swatter in with her. Note to self for next time. Our server apologized for the delay and promised our food would be out in 10 minutes. We had already been waiting for an hour. It was promptly served an hour and 15 minutes after we ordered it. The food was actually pretty good. My onion rings were crisp and warm. Nothing seemed to be sitting out waiting under a heat lamp. I had a burger and my husband had ribs. Both were ok. I waited 24 hours to leave a review and we both feel like we check ourselves as not getting sick from our meals.
