Roasted Pear

After a long drive from Des Moines, we needed something other than fast food. Roasted Pear gave us delicious steaks, fresh ingredients in the salads, surprisingly good wine, and warm, friendly service as well (thank you Sandy for racing to the parking lot to give us a forgotten item). A really nice experience!

Really want to rate 4.5 stars as we were disappointed the kids menu Mac and cheese had spice to it. Trace amounts of what appeared to be red pepper flakes. Great taste for adults, but not for a 5 yr old. Everything else was wonderful.

My order was to-go. So I only have 2 main points. I let the bartender know I was there for a to-go order and was ignored for the next 5-10 minutes. I could see my food sitting there getting cold, so I finally got up to get the GM and she helped. I really didn't like being ignored so the bartender could focus on his other clients. Waiting I don't mind, but clearly he wasn't going to help me anytime soon and my food was getting cold.

Secondly, I ordered the lobster mac and cheese. Now I've had a few really good lobster mac and cheese over the years. This wasn't one of them. And the salad was disappointing. But the cheesy garlic bread was good...

We expected 4 or 5 star service and food, got 2 or 3 star service and food.

Great place for lunch with kids. The kids menu along with bendable wax kids packs given out as a great distraction. Great hearty food for the money and certainly left very full with a happy little one.
