Depot Express

My husband and I went on a Friday after 6 p.m. It was very busy. We did not get any food and sat in the bar area, which was a bit chilly. To be honest it was not anything to be impressed by nostalgic wise and seemed very outdated. Living locally and driving past it many times, I expected it to be interesting on the inside as it is outside. I would get food to go to try it but most likely will not proactively go here willingly again.

The Depot Express offers what I would call a decent dining experience in a town where good dining is fairly hard to come by. The ambiance is fairly bar-like and the food quality can be somewhat hit-or-miss. I have noticed that the steaks are somewhat overdone, so if you like your steaks done "medium" it's usually best to order your steak "medium-rare". The summertime patio seating is nice with a view of one of the famous Alexandria lakes. It's worth checking out if you are visiting the area.
