Finest place to grab some food when in a hurry. Their service is swift, rates are fair, good atmosphere. Would recommend to others

This is a cool little place. Service is friendly. Prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food and desserts is quite good. If you happen to be driving by Wanamingo or visiting, give it a try.

Fantastic food and service This is one of my girlfriend's favorite spots. I had the triple decker, and it was perfect. Good coffee drinks. We don't get out here during open hours much but I look forward to returning.

Friendly small town cafe
My niece and I were looking for someplace out of the way and found Area 57 Cafe on Google maps.
At Monday lunch the crowd was elderly and mostly local. Note: There are fewer open places on Mondays in Southeast Minnesota outside of Rochester.
The food is fairly typical for a small farming town (i.e. meat-centric). A vegan would have trouble getting anything but salad.

My niece ordered the Southwest chicken sandwich and I ordered a deli cheese sandwich. Both came with chips and pickles. The service was very fast. Both sandwiches were good and we finished all of them. My only criticism was that the "swiss" cheese was processed not real. The two sandwiches plus a large iced latte came to $21 and change.

Would recommend if you're in the area.

The rueben was phenomenal. Awesome unique tastes. What a surprise it is to have the local mayor serve your food. He's a very nice guy and his restaurant is clean and inviting. The pudding cake takes the Cake. We couldn't even hold off till we got home. Superior small town cafe. So good
