I'm not sure the value is there for what they charge. Got the almanac for the dead and it was tasty in the middle, but for 18 bucks there needs to be more toppings and not 50% bare crust.
Updated +1: Gave them another try and got a large this time. Still more crust than I normally like but dipped it in olive oil for added goodness. I didn't realize tax was included also, so while still in expensive pizza territory, it's not extravagant compared to black sheep for example.

I had such high hopes about this place but the wait was just too long. My friend and I ordered at the same time and got the same thing but his was served 10 mins after mine. We also had to wait 5 mins for brewed coffee. The food was okay, coffee was good. The bookstore and vibe was cool but not cool enough to come back.

Another stop on the coffee passport tour, we ventured out of our usual south Minneapolis coffee shops over to Geek Love. Being a gorgeous summer day, my fiancé and I decided to bike over. We were surprised to find that the lot next to it was the Midtown Farmer’s Market.

You walk in to a small bookstore with a wide array of modern titles on current events and hot topics. They also have a lot of great gifts for your literary loving, LGTBQ+ supporting friends and family.

The cafe has a nice array of coffee and alcoholic beverages and apparently specialize in sourdough pizzas - which we’ll certainly have to come back and try. If the Farmer’s Market wasn’t going on we would have grabbed a snack because the pastries looked delightful.

They also have a back theater for trivia, live music, etc. at night. So basically there’s never a bad time to go to Geek Love.

Their support for the non-binary isn’t just on some of the many cute pins they sell, but truly a mission they fully stand by and support. From the employees on staff to the vendors and entertainment available at the Farmer’s Market, the sense of inclusion and acceptance is overwhelming.

They have clearly left an impact on the community as the bike shop down the road also includes preferred pronouns on their name tags.

I was at Hub Bike Co-OP and was hungry. The person helping me at Hub recommended the cafe in the bookstore next door. For pizza????. I felt like saying, I'm from the Chicago area so someone recommending pizza in a bookstore is borderline sinful. I decided to wander in and see what else they had and saw their pizza by the slice in a display on the counter. I let go of my judgement and ordered a slice of the Travis McGee. I've been in Minneapolis for 2.5 years and have yet to have any pizza that I would order again. Anywhere. Who would've thought the best pizza (imho) in Minneapolis is tucked behind a bookstore in a sweet little cafe? The crust, the flavor, the fresh tomatoes, the sauce were all delicious! I will definitely be back. Thank you Geek Cafe for giving me a reason to ride my bike across town. Honestly, for giving me a reason to stay in Minneapolis! Great Pizza!

I love this cafe! It's my favorite place to work or read or sit with a friend. I've joined book club here, and meet really excellent people by sharing a table with a stranger. The food options are very delicious and inclusive (love an oat milk latte) and the tip is built in to the prices. Huzzah!
