Nico's Tacos + Agave Bar

Awesome meal tonight with the kids at Nico’s Taco Bar new Penn Ave location. Resy was right on time, great start with a welcoming fire tonight on the front patio. Atmosphere was on point, love the vibe and decor. Hospitality was top notch, great beverage selection and the food was fantastic, so fresh and flavorful. We got a tour of the fresh corn tortilla operation in the kitchen from one of the owners, soo good! They definitely take pride in their craft, which explains how this family run operation is growing with their third location in the twin cities. We’ll be back for sure. Cheers to Nico’s family, well done.

The newest Nico's Tacos + Agave Bar in South Minneapolis (50th and Penn Ave S) is another huge success of love and commitment to authentic Mexican food and community by the owner's, Jenna and Alex Victoria. The space is beautifully decorated in a south of the border style and offers a warm, yet vibrant, atmosphere where you can enjoy a delicious cocktail (superb margaritas and tequila menu) at the bar or dive into amazing and unique dishes at the light and bright dining area (love the windows). Start off with homemade tortilla chips with guacamole and the flight of salsas, or the perfectly put together plate of nachos. But don't miss the scallop, camaron, and octopus tacos. Yum! And if you're lucky you will meet Alex and Jenna - their smiles alone will bring you back again and again.

My daughter and I loved the just-opened Nico's Taco and Agave Bar at 50th & Penn in southwest Minneapolis. Their third Twin Cities location, Chef Alejandro Victoria was inspired by traditional Mexican street food, using indigenous herbs and spices used throughout the very heart of Mexico and brings authentic recipes from his homeland in Michoacan, Mexico, to your plate. We had the scrumptious camaron, scallop and octopus tacos served on flour tortilla, chips with corn chowder salsa, and house margaritas with extra hot sauce. Yum! Day two of this location’s opening week and the crew was slaying!! Good vibes all around - the mocktails were light, sweet, utterly delightful; the food was good all around, with highlights for us being the chicken tamale, THAT QUESO, mushroom taco (the tastiest we’ve had), and that orange salsa! A most excellent spot to bring a crowd. Dare you to eat every salsa??! SUCH a great addition to the neighborhood! Thanks for making a random Tuesday in February so enjoyable.
